  17. FOREWARD
  18. ========

  20. Tutankhamun was once sold commercially by the Central Licenceware Registry, 
  21. but after this company had ceased trading, it became unavailable through 
  22. any outlet. Around this time I was pursuing a degree in Computers and was 
  23. forced to sell my Amiga to raise money for a PC, an action i later 
  24. regretted. Deprived of my Amiga I lost track of the Amiga scene for nearly
  25. three years.

  27. The degree is now nearly finished, and to reward to myself I bought a new 
  28. Amiga. After catching up on the Amiga scene, I was shocked by the amount of
  29. software and hardware companys that had abandoned the Amiga, a computer that
  30. had been so good to them in the past!

  32. I now wish to help the Amiga in any way i can, for this reason Tutankhamun
  33. is now released as FREEWARE. Please ignore any copyright messages in the 
  34. program itself.

  37. INTRODUCTION
  38. ============

  40. Tutankhamun is an educational program designed with ease of use in mind.
  41. By using a combination of text, diagrams and pictures you can explore the
  42. fascinating bygone age of ancient Egypt, after which you can delve into the
  43. incredible discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922.

  61. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
  62. ====================

  64. Tutankhamun will work on any Amiga which has at least 1MB of chip memory
  65. and OS 2.0 or later installed, the floppy disk version will also make use 
  66. of an external floppy drive if available. Titanic II can be installed to 
  67. Hard Disk, see below.

  70. INSTALLING TO FLOPPY
  71. ====================
  72.  
  73. Two floppy disks is required for this title. In the Tutankhamun directory
  74. is another directory called 'Disks', which contains two files in DMS 
  75. format. To recreate the original disks double click on the appropriate 
  76. icon and follow the instructions.

  79. INSTALLING TO HARD DISK
  80. =======================
  81.  
  82. Simply drag the Tutankhamun directory anywhere on your Hard Disk. If you
  83. have the original floppy version you can run the HDInstall program on disk 1
  84. or you may do it manually. If the manual method is used the following should 
  85. be noted: 
  86.  
  87. Tutankhamun finds all its files by reading in the Tutankhamun.prefs from the
  88. current System disk (be it floppy or Hard Disk), if this file is not found
  89. Tutankhamun uses its defaults, consequently it will not know where to
  90. find its files and the program will abort. Getting around this problem you
  91. can do the following.

  93. First load the Tutankhamun.prefs into a text editor such as Ed. Looking at 
  94. the file you will see that the first three lines contain the paths of
  95. Tutankhamun's three directorys:
  96.  
  97.                              Tutankhamun1:Music/
  98.                              Tutankhamun2:Pics/
  99.                              Tutankhamun1:Data/
  100.  
  101. So if you had installed Tutankhamun to a partition called Work and into a 
  102. directory called Test, you should edit the file to read:
  103.    
  104.                              Work:Test/Music/
  105.                              Work:Test/Pics/
  106.                              Work:Test/Data/
  107.  
  108. Also if you wish to throw all Tutankamun's files into one directory say for 
  109. instance Test2, you should edit the file to read:
  110.

  112.                              Work:Test2/
  113.                              Work:Test2/

  115. Once you have finished editing the file you should save it to your Sys/S 
  116. directory, and when you next run Tutankamun it will hopefully find it's
  117. files from the paths you have given it.

  119. You should also copy the Egypt fonts, found on Tutankamun disk 1, to your 
  120. fonts directorys.

  123. BUGS
  124. ====
  125.  
  126. For some reason when exiting Tutankhamun, when 'Executive' is running,
  127. will freeze Workbench and the user is forced to reboot. When I originally 
  128. developed this title this program was around, and I am at a loss on how 
  129. to solve it, other than by turning 'Executive' off.
